I spent a week at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside a few months ago and had such a wonderful time. I know you are going to love it there! It features mansion-style buildings and guest houses settled along the peaceful Sassagoula River. I felt like royalty myself in the themed rooms! Look around for the small details that Disney does so well.
Some guests decorate their resort room windows, and I think it is such a fun way to share a little magic! The windows at Riverside do have decorative dividers. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the exact measurements of the spaces the dividers create. The photos I found online of the windows were not consistent. This could be because the rooms at this resort are currently undergoing refurbishment and may not all be the same, so it's difficult to even make an estimate. I know this must be a disappointment, and I'm sorry.
Keep in mind that all decor must be hung and removed without damaging anything. Many guests like to use window clings, suction cups, or painter's tape. There's also a small ledge where you can place items to be seen, such as stuffed animals.
There are plenty of reasons to spend a day at your resort - like
Ol' Man Island and
Riverside Mill Food Court. Stop by
River Roost one evening for a drink and a bite. If you time it right, you might even catch
YeeHa Bob leading a sing-along! Be sure to check out the
Resort Activities Schedule for fun things to do while you're taking a break from the theme parks. You are just a short boat ride away from Riverside's sister resort,
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. As a Riverside guest, you can enjoy all the amenities there, as well, including those famous beignets at
Scat Cat's Club - Cafe.
