We are staying at Port Orleans REsort However we are coming to Disney World to attend a Down Syndrome conference at Coronado Resorts. Is it going to be hard to get from one resort to the other. Having anxiety. Should we went a car?

    Hi Angela,

Thanks for writing.  There is no direct Disney transportation between resorts.  Therefore, in order to get to and from Coronado Springs Resort and Port Orleans, using Disney transportation, you would need to take a bus to a park and then transfer to a bus headed to Coronado.  This process will likely take you a bit over an hour each way (to allow for bus waiting and travel time).  Having your own car would make getting back and forth between resorts easier if you plan on making this trip several times.  Alternatively, there are taxis readily available at the resorts, and Bell Services can hail one for you.  If you are interested in renting a car, there are two locations to do so on Disney Property.  Alamo and National are located at the Car Care Center.  The center is located near the Magic Kingdom and can be accessed via a free shuttle from any of the resorts.  Simply tell the front desk that you want to rent a car, and they'll help arrange for shuttle pick up.  There is another car rental location at the Dolphin Hotel (which is near Epcot and Hollywood Studios).  You can get there via Disney Transportation to one of these two parks and then transferring to a boat to the Dolphin.

If your conference is for only part of your trip, and you don't anticipate needing to go back and forth between Port Orleans and Coronado many times, it seems as though taking taxis back and forth might be your best bet.

I hope you get to enjoy some time in the parks during, before and/or after your conference!
