We are staying at Port Orleans Resort. Do they explain to you how to use the transportation system? We are a little nervous about it. We have dining reservations at parks and resorts. Don't wanna get lost!

    Hi Debbie,

Good news! It's now easier than ever to navigate at Walt Disney World. Just last month, the My Disney Experience mobile app added a "Get Directions" feature that can help you with transportation options -- walking, bus, boat and monorail. The Disney Parks Blog recently posted an introductory video to show how the app can help you as you move around the resorts and theme parks.

Even without the app, directions are fairly simple. When you check in, you will get a detailed map of Port Orleans that shows the bus stops and the boats that can carry you to Disney Springs. The bus stops have monitors that show approximate arrival times for the next bus to each theme park. At the theme parks, transportation options are normally well-marked as well.

I know it can seem a bit overwhelming, but I think you will find it manageable. My chief tip is to allow plenty of time to get to your dinner reservations, especially if you dining at a resort. I like to give myself 90 minutes or so for travel between resorts, just to be sure I don't stress about being late. If you are early, you can explore the resort (which will be decorated for the holidays during your visit) or have a pre-dinner drink while you wait to be seated.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please check back if you have specific questions about getting from one place to another or if we can answer any other questions as your vacation nears.

    Wishing you a magical visit,

    Wilma
