We are staying in Port Orleans in May. The day we check in we want to book Be Our Guest for 8am breakfast. We are from Canada so we have to go to our resort to pick up our magic bands. What time would we have to get to our resort to have enough time?

    Hi Derek,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian. It’s lovely to meet you!

I’ve stayed at both Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside before and they’re both wonderful places to stay during any visit to Walt Disney World Resort. One of the things that I enjoy most about those Resorts is that, based on my experience, aside from the Disney Resort Hotels along the Resort Monorail loop, travel times to Magic Kingdom Park are often much shorter than for some other hotels… once you get on the bus, that is!

If you have a reservation at Be Our Guest Restaurant at 8:00 am on the day of your arrival and you want to make sure that you have plenty of time to get to the Park for your dining reservation, I’d recommend arriving at your Resort no later than 6:30 am to pick up your MagicBands, drop your bags off at Bell Services and then be on your way. If you’re running short on time, another option would be to use Disney’s Minnie Van Service to get where you’re going more quickly. It’s the only “ridesharing” option that allows you to get dropped off directly at Magic Kingdom Park, and not at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

I hope my answer helps you plan a smooth start to your vacation this May. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
