We are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter, we have a reservation for Boma for breakfast and are planning on driving over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, can we leave the car at the resort and take the bus to Animal Kingdom for the day?

    Jambo Shannon!

A warm welcome back to planDisney!  I’m so glad to see that you are planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort next month with a stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter!  Make sure to stop by Scat Cat’s Club - Café during your resort stay to enjoy some of their famous Mickey-shaped beignets. . .you won’t be disappointed!

Shannon, I had breakfast at Boma - Flavors of Africa a few weeks ago and can’t seem to stop talking about it to anyone who will listen!  Not only will you find some classic Disney breakfast buffet favorites like Mickey waffles (and Simba waffles too!), but you’ll also be able to try some more unique offerings as well.  One of my favorites was the grapefruit, papaya, and avocado salad.  It may sound like an unusual combination of flavors, but trust me when I tell you it’s delicious!

During your breakfast at Boma, you’ll be able to enjoy complimentary parking at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.  If you have a few minutes either before or after your meal, I’d encourage you to take a walk around this breathtaking resort.  In addition to viewing the animals roaming the savanna, you can also check out the beautiful African art displays around the lobby as well.  After you have finished, you will need to move your car before visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, but you’ll be happy to know that as a guest staying in the Disney Resorts Collection, you can also enjoy complimentary parking at the theme parks as well.  Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is just a few minutes from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and, depending on the bus schedule, you may even be able to drive there faster than waiting for a bus!  When parking at the theme parks, don’t forget that there is a handy Car Locator feature in the My Disney Experience Mobile App so you can easily find your vehicle at the end of the day!

Shannon, I hope this information is helpful and that you enjoy a day exploring the “wild” side of Walt Disney World Resort with your visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
