Hello, Hannah,
Thank you for sending your question to planDisney. Your trip is nearly here, and it looks like you are trying to sample some of the other modes of
Disney transportation. My family appreciates being able to utilize the complimentary transportation throughout Walt Disney World, especially the
monorail and the
Disney Skyliner. It is a joy to soar above parts of Walt Disney World to enjoy all the amazing views!
Your plan to go from
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter to the
Magic Kingdom should work well. The bus will take you to
EPCOT and then you will need to walk to the monorail station to catch it to the Ticket and Transportation Center. Once there, you can transfer to the Magic Kingdom monorail. The resort monorail also goes to the Magic Kingdom, but it will make some resort stops along the way. You can easily do this in reverse to return to your resort, too. Please note that this will likely add some extra travel time.
I'd also encourage you to double-check park opening/closing times. Disney transportation begins running 45 minutes before park openings and runs 1 hour after park closings. EPCOT and the Magic Kingdom may not have identical park hours.
Taking a bus to EPCOT to transfer to the Disney Skyliner will not work as easily. The Disney Skyliner station is located at the International Gateway (which is between the United Kingdom and France in the World Showcase) rather than the front entrance of EPCOT. To ride the Disney Skyliner, you could take a ride share/taxi to
Disney's Beach Club Resort and walk to the Skyliner station to take it to Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Another idea is to take a break during the day and ride the Skyliner to EPCOT and then return to Disney's Hollywood Studios. It is a peaceful and quiet ride and makes for a perfect break away from the parks. My husband and I do this on our trips. We love grabbing a cup of coffee for a mid-day caffeine boost and enjoying a ride on the Skyliner. It is often just the break we need to re-energize.
Wishing you a magical trip! Please let us know if we can help with any further questions.
