We are staying at Port Orleans, French Quarter In March. What is the best route of transportation to the International Gateway at Epcot for rope drop? I was thinking by bus, then skyliner?

Hey there, Danny! Welcome back to planDisney!

When you’re trying to make the most of your Disney day, a successful vacation often hinges on knowing how to get from point A to point B. It looks like you’ll be visiting the Vacation Kingdom of the World in just a few days (woo hoo!), so let’s jump in and figure out the best route for your rope drop plans.

There isn’t a direct route between Port Orleans - French Quarter and the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT, so any plan will begin with taking a bus from your resort to Hollywood Studios. Once there, you have three options for getting to the International Gateway entrance: Skyliner, water taxi, or walking. At the time I’m writing this, the My Disney Experience mobile app estimates the Skyliner route to take 22 minutes, the water taxi to take 47 minutes, and walking to take 26 minutes.

Estimated travel times will vary by date and time, and I would suspect the Skyliner would be a longer journey ahead of rope drop, since guests from multiple resorts will all be transferring at the Caribbean Beach Skyliner Station. Be sure to check My Disney Experience for up-to-date travel times before heading out. You may find that with all the added travel time, your best option is to take a bus directly from your resort to the main entrance of EPCOT.

It looks like the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival will be in full-swing when you visit. Be sure to check out the Disney Park Blog’s Foodie Guide ahead of your visit so you don’t miss out on any of the delicious seasonal treats.

Best of luck in your travels, Danny! Don’t hesitate to come back if you have more vacation planning questions. You're as welcome as can be at planDisney!

    Magical travels!
