Hi, Christina!
My family stays all over Disney property, but
Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter is the resort we consider our "home away from home!" I hope your family enjoys this property as much as my family does.
When staying in a standard view room, my choice is Building 4, with a first floor room. This puts you very near the bus depot as well as the food court. You are just steps away from middle of it all! Between Buildings 4 and 5 is a large grassy courtyard area where my kids love to toss around a football by day, and watch movies by night (see schedule for movie days and times).
If you prefer a standard room that is a bit quieter, you might enjoy Buildings 1 or 7 on an upper level floor. These buildings are a bit more remote so you will not have as much foot traffic. Even in these buildings, you are just about a 5-7 minute walk to the main resort areas.
Enjoy your stay at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter. Make sure to try the made-to-order beignets at the
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. For a fun time, take a boat ride to
Disney Springs or take a stroll down to sister resort Riverside to rent bikes. With so much to do, make sure to plan some "resort time" to take it all in.
