Staying Port Orleans French Quarter w/ husband for first child-free WDW vacation. Arrive 2/14/15; leave 2/17. Any suggestions for romantic Valentine dinner? Any Mardi Gras celebrations?(Never planned a trip without the kids likes/dislikes in mind.)Thanks

    Hi there, Lisa!

I'm so excited for you and your husband to visit the Walt Disney World Resort for an adults-only vacation!

I've got a couple of favorite restaurants that make for a great, romantic setting. On the top of my list is Narcoossee's which is a Signature Restaurant located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. They serve delicious seafood specialties as well as wonderful land-based fare. The restaurant sits right on the edge of the Seven Seas Lagoon and provides a great view of Cinderella Castle in the distance. In the evenings during the fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park, you can step outside onto the deck where the music will be piped in and watch the fireworks. It's truly a sight to behold!

Another one of my favorites is the California Grill. Sitting high atop Disney's Contemporary Resort with a breathtaking view of Magic Kingdom Park, this location offers some of the finest flavors of the Pacific Coast. If you are looking for more of an International flare, Chefs de France is a fabulous French restaurant over at Epcot and will give you a great, romantic setting as well as a delicious meal! Please keep in mind that reservations are highly recommended and can be made either online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

You've picked a great Resort to stay in! Check out PortOrleans.org for some great info on celebrating Mardi Gras at the Port Orleans Resorts; you'll find it under "Recreation and Services."

Thanks so much for stopping by, Lisa, and I sure hope this helps with your decision. Please don't hesitate to write back in if we can help with any other questions you have!

Wishing you and your husband a Pixie Dusted vacation!
