Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Marla! I first stayed in
Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort in 2016, and I have been hooked ever since. The relaxed Resort, with cobblestoned lined streets and southern landscaping are a wonderful way to rest yourself after a long day at the Parks!
The Resort is one of the smaller on Walt Disney World Resort property, which means all of the buildings are less than a five minute walk to the Main Lobby, Pools, and bus stops. I have stayed in the corner building, #7, with a courtyard view and it was very peaceful. I was able to take the exterior sidewalk to the 2 bus stops, which was incredibly convenient. You could also request buildings 3 & 4 for close access when you use the
Online Resort Check-in system. The incredibly themed pool is a great way to spend a Resort day, with an alligator statue promenade, fitting playground and plenty of beignets in the
Sassagoula Food Court. You’ll have to get a coin from the parade master in the lobby, and toss it into the fountains up front, making a Mardi Gras worthy wish. If you need a little more room to stretch your legs, you can walk or boat to the sister resort, Port Orleans Riverside (for fishing, carriage rides, etc) or take the
convenient water taxi (a large perk of this moderate Resort) to Disney Springs.
If I can give you more pointers for your upcoming vacation, please let me know. You’re sure to have a “bon temp!” ~ Lindsey P.
