Staying at PO-Riverside resort next month. How long does it take to get from our resort to the 4 theme parks?

    Hi Chris,

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is located very near the center of Walt Disney World.  That means that no destination on Disney property is that far away.  Epcot is the closest of the theme parks. Wdwinfo.com, an independent fan site, notes that Epcot is only one mile away from Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.  That translates to a very short bus ride (10-15 minutes, depending on the bus stop from which you originate).  The Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios are only five miles away so you should expect a bus ride of roughly 20-25 minutes.  And Disney's Animal Kingdom is approximately nine miles away so the bus ride will take 30-35 minutes.

If you are driving your own vehicle from your home resort to the Disney theme parks, you can cut these transportation times in half (except at the Magic Kingdom, where taking the bus is actually the more efficient strategy as the parking lot is quite a distance from the gates of the theme park).

I always like to leave extra time in my travel schedule at Walt Disney World, especially if I am hoping to catch any opening ceremonies or dining reservations at the parks.  Give yourself plenty of time as you travel from one location to another and explore the many wonders of Walt Disney World.

    Have fun next month!
