We're staying at the POR the week of 4/25.I'm wondering how accessible the other resorts are from our resort, ie.can we get to the Wilderness Lodge or the Polynesian from ours or do we have to go to one of the parks and switch to a resort bus from there

Unfortunately, the busses do not run in between resorts.  If you want to visit Disney's Wilderness Lodge or Polynesian resorts you will have to take a bus from Port Orleans Riverside to a theme park and switch to a bus (or monorail or boat as the case may be) to get to another resort.

Of course, many of the resorts are within walking distance of one another and Port Orleans Riverside is one of those; Port Orleans French Quarter is within walking distance.  In fact, a delightful stroll along the Sassagoula River will lead you there in no time.  Be sure to pick up some beignets if you go; they are fabulous!

Traveling between resorts via a theme park can be a lengthy process but sometimes the restaurants in those other resorts make it worth the trouble!  Hope that helps.
