Staying at POR 2/9 thru 2/17 and am curious about bed sizes. Do the rooms with trundle beds have queen or doubles? Double beds just aren't big enough for me. Thanks in advance!

    Hi there, Frank!

All of the rooms in Port Orleans Riverside have undergone or are undergoing renovation.

A resort-wide room refurbishment program began on June 26 of this year, a project which should hopefully be complete by August 2012. Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace are both complete, and work is currently underway on the first four Alligator Bayou lodges (36-39). Two of these (36 and 37) were re-opened during November, and the other two are due to open this month.

In early 2012, all 512 of the rooms in Oak Manor and Parterre Place will be the only Port Orleans Riverside sections to receive the new Royal Room treatment (with Oak due to re-open in February and Parterre in March).

Finally, the remainder of Alligator Bayou will be completed over the following four/five months.

The newly refitted rooms should include Queen size beds to replace the old doubles, flat-screen TVs, and completely updated furnishings, fittings, carpets, etc.

At this point, it is unclear whether the trundle bed rooms in Alligator Bayou will be upgraded to queen beds, as there may not be sufficient space to accommodate the trundle and the larger furnishing.  At this point, there are rooms with doubles and rooms with queens; your best bet is to speak to the Cast Member at check-in and indicate that you would like a queen with trundle room. if possible. You might also ant to call the Resort directly at (407) 934-6000 to put in your request and check availability at the time of your visit.

    Sweet dreams!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
