Hi there! We will be staying at POR - Riverside in Dec. Have 3 kids (16, 11, 7 - 2 boys, 1 girl) and am wondering which part of the resort is the best to stay in. Any recommendations? Also, when can we place the request?

Hi Sarah! Just heading down to that resort myself this week and I can't wait. It is a beautiful location and I love having the river running through it as it gives me a peaceful feeling after busy days in the parks.

There are basically two sections of this resort: Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend. The larger rooms that can sleep five with the pulldown bed are in the Alligator Bayou area and the preferred buildings are 14, 15, 17, and 18. They are the ones that are closest to the main lobby and dining area so you can walk easily without using the internal bus system.  In the Magnolia Bend area there are two separate types of rooms so it would depend on what type you had reserved as to what building you would be assigned. The Standard rooms are the buildings closest to the Alligator Bayou area and the new Royal rooms are the two that are a bit closer to the lobby area.

So it will depend on what kind of room you have reserved to decide what to request. They will try to honor your wishes but during heavy vacation times it becomes a lot harder to put the puzzle together for all guests.  Fax your request about a week before your arrival date  or just add the request to your reservation by calling the central reservation number. Have a great time in December!
