    Staying at POR. 1 night standard, then 8 nights preferred. Where are the preferred rooms on the mansion side? I prefer to stay on that side of the resort. Will they move our bags? Is there a map of the areas-preferred, standard? Hope same room all night

    Hi there Brenda!

    I tried to find a map which specified which rooms were "Preferred" at Port Orleans Riverside and I just couldn't find anything which listed the types of rooms. My guess is that the rooms are designated by the Resort internally and each room is designated differently. So you may have a preferred room three rooms down from a "standard room" just because of the view. I have read that all of the views are lovely and it is probably the best of the Moderate Resorts for theming and landscaping. When you check into the resort, try to talk to the Cast Member and let them know your situation with your room. You never know, depending on your arrival date, the Cast Member may be able to sprinkle a little pixie dust and put you in your preferred room from day one.  Here is a little bit of information I found about the location of the buildings and relative closeness to certain areas of the resort. 

    For a room close to the main building/food court, request Oak Manor or Magnolia Terrace in Magnolia Bend or Alligator Bayou buildings 14, 15, 16 or 18.
    For a room close to the main pool, (Ol' Man Island), request Acadian House or Magnolia Terrace in Magnolia Bend or Alligator Bayou buildings 14, 18, 27 or 38.
    For a room close to the bus depots: Acadian House (North Depot) and Magnolia Terrace (East Depot) or Alligator Bayou buildings 24, 34 (West Depot) and 37 (North Depot).
