Hi! We are staying at POR in May. Was wondering if the rooms in the Alligator Bayou seem dark due to decor? I am wanting to stay in a bright, cheery, upbeat room. What kind of requests can I make when reserving so far as room type, location, etc..

Hi, Catherine!   Port Orleans Riverside is one of my favorite resorts.  There is so much to discover with 6 pools, carriage rides, a fishing hole, and more.

This resort is divided into two sections.  The first is Alligator Bayou.  These are themed as "backwoods cottages" and it has a woodsy feel.  I like this area of the resort, as it is quiet and you get the real feeling of being on vacation.

With wanting a bright room, you might prefer Magnolia Bend.  This area is themed as large mansions with white columns.  It is quite lovely!  There aren't as many trees in this area, so you will get that sunny feel you are looking for!

When making your reservation, list in order of importance your requests.  For example, start with the section of the resort you want (Magnolia Bend or Alligator Bayou.)  From there, you can request what floor you prefer, a corner room, or connecting rooms, whatever you need!   Please remember that requests will be taken into consideration, but cannot be guaranteed.

Have a great stay at Disney and at Port Orleans Riverside!
