Staying at POR May'13 w/ son-7 and daughter-5. We have booked a standard room - what building is closest to the pool, bus, and main building for these rooms? Any of information regarding POR would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi Cheri!

Congratulations on your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World!
You're going to just love Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.
Take a peek at the Resort's page on the Walt Disney World website and click on the 'Rooms' tab in the photo header bar. The 2nd through 5th photo depict the 'Magnolia Bend' standard room type while the last photo shows an Alligator Bayou style 'rustic' room. Decide which of these styles better suits your family's taste so that you can 'request' a certain room location in advance of your arrival.

When decided, call in at (407) 939-7675 with your Resort Reservation number handy. Advise the Cast Member that you'd like to place a note on your room file. Let the Cast Member know if you'd prefer to be in the resort's Magnolia Bend section or the Alligator Bayou section. If you choose Magnolia Bend, your best option for a Standard Room location would be to request Bldg 85 - Magnolia. This is closest to the East Depot bus stop and just a short walk across the bridge to the feature swimming pool area and to the resort's food court and lobby. Should you decide that the rustic charm of Alligator Bayou is more your style, then Bldg 16 or 17 would be your optimal choices in the standard category.

Notating "requests" on your file cannot be guaranteed to affect your room assignment, however Cast Members will do their best to meet your request(s) based on availability at the time of check-in.

There's a fantastic non-Disney website maintained by 'fans' of the Port Orleans Resorts. PortOrleans.org maintains great information on their site including resort layout maps, reviews, photos and much more. You may find this to be a useful resource to learn all about this fabulous resort in depth!

I hope you'll write me back again soon with more questions Cheri - I'd love to hear from you again!
Have a Magical time at Walt Disney World!
