Are staying at POR in May 2016 and have a dining reservation at 8:30am at Chef Mickey's. What is the best way to get there on WDW transportation and how long should we allow for travel? Thanks!

    Hey, Susan!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Being in the Grand Canyon Concourse of Disney’s Contemporary Resort while dining on omelets, pastries and of course Mickey Waffles is always a trip highlight. Chef Mickey's is one of the best experiences. We can’t wait for our hugs from Mickey and the rest of the “Fab 5” in their chef attire. Expect your dining experience to last about 60 minutes so you can eat and meet these wonderful Disney personalities.

Disney Transportation buses will begin shuttling Guests around 6:30 a.m. for early dining experiences but this is not a guarantee. Check with the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel to see when the buses will start. A direct bus from the Disney's Port Orleans Resorts to Disney's Contemporary Resort is about 15 minutes. I would plan on leaving around 7:45 a.m. in case the bus makes an extra stop or two to pick up Guests at other Resort hotels. If you don't want to leave that early then you could travel by taxi or Uber for around $10-15.

Disney Dad Tip: Have your cameras, fat permanent markers and autograph books ready for some big smiles and fun with Mickey and the gang.

Susan, enjoy making many delicious and Magical Memories!
