Hi! we are staying at POR (february 1-11), but we would like to see wishes from an other place apart that from MK, can we go to the GF or Poly 'beaches? any other ideas? we are a party of 2 can we go on a cruise ? thanks! Alicia.

You have lots of options to explore if you're looking to view the fireworks from outside the Magic Kingdom:

BY BOAT: At the moment, Disney doesn't offer a cruise on a per-person basis. You have to charter. You can charter a boat from any of the resorts on Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon: The Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness. As of January 1, 2009, you have your choice of two pontoon boats: a 21-footer that seats up to eight people and costs $250 plus tax or a 25-foot pontoon boat that seats up to 10 people and costs $300 plus tax. To make a reservation, you can call 407-WDW-PLAY (407-939-7529).

IN A RESTAURANT: My two favorites are the California Grill atop The Contemporary Resort and Ohana's in the Polynesian. Lights in the restaurant are dimmed and music is piped in while the fireworks show off. Try to make your reservation for a time that's about an hour before the fireworks are scheduled, and you'll be served a grand finale to your dinner! To make a dining reservation, call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463).

FROM THE BEACH: Definitely the easiest on the pocketbook, the viewing from the pier at The Polynesian or Fort Wilderness is a delight. Choreographed music is played over the load speakers on the pier for all to enjoy the show.

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
