    Will be staying at POR from dec 19-26 and was wondering about the weather at this time of year. What should we pack in terms of clothing and will we be able to use the pools at the resort?

    Hi Amy!

    As someone who's spent a number of Christmas vacations at the Wonderful World of Disney, I think I have some knowledge in this area:

    The temperature around this time usually averages around the mid to upper 70's. There have been a few trips where it even got to the lower 80's, but mostly look for something somewhere between 75-77 degrees on average.

    Pack shorts and/or pants that aren't too thick or heavy. T-shirts or short sleeve shirts are good. Rarely did I need a long sleeve shirt when I was there. I would, however, make sure to bring a light jacket or sweater, as the evening weather can dip to a cooler low-to-mid 50's. You'll find it's easier to put that jacket on if indeed it feels too cool in the evening, vs. wearing a long sleeve shirt in the evening when it's still fairly warm outside.

    As for the resort pools: All resort pools are open even in December. They may close a couple hours earlier compared to summer hours, but they are generally open most of the daytime for your pleasure.
