We are staying at the POR 4/21-28 my concern is do I rent a car or use the disney transportation? We like to get to the parks early some days and stay late for fireworks other nights. Will waiting for the buses take a lot of time out of our day?

Hi David - there are a variety of different opinions on this topic, but I will offer my opinion.  I stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter (which shares a bus with Riverside) and I definitely had a good experience.  While waiting for the buses can occasionally be frustrating, the money saved and other benefits (i.e., being dropped off right at the front entrance of the parks) is definitely worthwhile to us.

If you are still uncertain, try to price out what the rental car and gas will cost you, and decide if that's money you'd rather save.  That will help you decide what's best for your family.

    Have a great vacation!
