Hello! we are staying at the POR on 04/03-04/05. Would like to attend Chef Mickey's Breakfast on Mon. & make it to the park for rope drop. Do we have time and if so what time should we schedule breakfast? I read somewhere to allow an hour- wow! Thanks!

    Hello Cynthia,
Our family loves breakfast at Chef Mickey's!

To answer your question I will assume you meant 'rope drop' at the Magic Kingdom.  Resort transportation begins two hours prior to theme park openings - that would be 7 am for the day you are talking about.  You will need to schedule a full hour to get to the Contemporary Resort.  To do this, take the bus from your resort to the Magic Kingdom, and then hop on the monorail to get to the Contemporary.  I would recommend you be at the Port Orleans bus stop early - five or 10 minutes before 7am to make sure you make that first bus.

So the earliest I would recommend you make a reservation at Chef Mickey's is 8 or 8:10am.  This is a scrumptious full breakfast buffet.  The characters (which are subject to change) will be there the whole time - they generally visit from table to table.  Disney Dining suggests planning a minimum of 45 minutes for this experience, and I would recommend you take your time and plan to stay longer.  It is just so much fun!

Once you leave Chef Mickey's, you will take the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom - that might take 15 minutes.

So yes, you may be able to make it to the Magic Kingdom when it opens. But if you can, I would recommend taking your time and drinking in the whole character breakfast experience.  It really is magical!  Cynthia, have a wonderful family time!
