Hello, staying at POR and are arriving in the late afternoon. Looking for ideas of what to do that day. We went to DD last year, so maybe something different? I'd like to visit a different resort & eat dinner there, if it had a beach that would be a pl

Years ago--during our very first Disney World trip--my family took a monorail tour on our first day.  Aboard the Epcot monorail, we got the chance to venture inside a theme park, without using a day off of our tickets.  While our view inside Epcot was technically only from out the windows of the monorail, it still served to excite each of us about what was to come.  Something similar might be the perfect first day activity for you, too, especially considering you'd like to visit a resort for dinner.  After taking a trip on the Epcot monorail, you could switch to the resort monorail.  Dinner at 'Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, or Chef Mickey's would all be fun, first night choices.  Even better?  The Polynesian's beach offers a great view of the fireworks.  Enjoy!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
