I will be staying at Pop in Sept. with DH, DD1, DS2. We will have our car. Is it worth hauling kids, double stroller & bags on bus to Magic Kingdom? I looked on ourlaughingplace.com for travel time but it doesn't say when you drive your own car.

    Hi Christina!

I think given the kids ages, it would probably be more comfortable to ride in your own car. Especially if your are going during a busy season, because the buses can get crowded.

Here's what you should consider: You'll have to fold up the stroller when you board the bus, but it also drops you off near the entrance of Magic Kingdom. However, the Pop Century bus loading area is usually the farthest one when leaving the park. The bus ride is about 20 to 25 minutes, plus any wait time for the bus to arrive.

On the other hand, if you take your own car, you don't have to factor in a wait time for it to get there, you just get in and drive, but you are going to the Ticket and Transportation Center and riding from there on a ferry boat or the monorail to the Magic Kingdom, which can add another 10 minutes or so, though if you go during an especially crowded time, it will be longer and you might wonder what the difference would have been.

You'll probably have to fold the stroller if you plan on using the tram at the parking lot to the Ticket and Transportation Center. I suggest getting there early anyway, so you can park near the front and so you can enjoy the park while it is less crowded and before nap times.

When you need to leave the park, you can hop on the monorail or ferry boat to the T&TC and either walk or use the tram again to get to your car.

It's kind of a toss up, but when I think about being able to store some of the things we Moms haul around (like that extra change of clothes for the kids), in your car and it being nearer than the resort, that's usually the deciding factor for me! Plus, if I see nap time is coming around, it's easier for me to bring the kids into our car, with their familiar car seats, and just drive off on our own accord.

I hope this helps! Come back to the Moms Panel if you have any more questions!
