Hi there, we will be staying at the Pop Century Resort. My son has a peanut/tree nut allergy - do you know if there will be any problems for him eating at the resort or especially at the parks? Thanks for any help! Neil

    Hi there Neil,

Welcome to planDisney! It looks like your vacation to Walt Disney World Resort is fast approaching  - your family must be getting excited! Disney‘s Pop Century Resort is my favourite value resort at Walt Disney World Resort, it holds a special place in my heart. My family has stayed there a few times and I have many great memories of my kids swimming in the themed pools there. My daughters love eating at Everything POP Shopping & Dining and they get a kick out of Disney‘s Pop Century‘s exclusive Tie-Dyed cheesecake. It‘s delicious and so colourful!

While none of my immediate family have allergies, I have travelled to Walt Disney World Resort with extended family with food allergies. I was most impressed with how the Walt Disney World Resort restaurants handle allergies and I hope you will experience the same. Walt Disney World Resort takes allergies very seriously and has protocols in place when notified about any allergies. There are many Table-Service restaurants and some Quick-Service locations that can accommodate Guests with more common food allergies with no advance planning. These allergies are eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy tree nuts, and wheat.

Upon arrival at a restaurant, inform the Cast Member taking your order that you have a Special Dietary Request. They will provide a binder containing all the food items and their ingredients so you can ensure your meal is safe to eat. In most Table-Service restaurants, the chef will usually come to your table to discuss your allergy and attempt to modify a menu item to make it allergy-free for your child.

I also recommend using the Walt Disney World Dining page or the My Disney Experience Mobile App to view menus for all of Walt Disney World Resort's restaurants. Here, you'll find allergy-friendly menus listing food options under Egg Allergy-Friendly, Milk Allergy-Friendly, and Peanut/Tree Nut Allergy-Friendly sections. It's a great way to get an idea of what you may want to order before arriving and speaking to a Cast Member about any allergies.

Neil, I hope this helps you as you finalize your vacation planning. Please let me know if you have any other questions, I'd love to help.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
