We will be staying at the Pop Century resort the last week of May and we are unsure if we should rent a car for the week. Is Disney transportation sufficient in getting around or is it better to have a vehicle handy? Thanks!!

    Hi Donna!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip!  May is a glorious weather month to visit Disney.  It's usually sunny and warm, but not as oppressively hot as the summer months.  You'll also have an opportunity to check out Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival, during which the park boasts over 30 million blooms, Disney-themed topiaries and Minnie's Butterfly Garden.  I would definitely put this on my "must do" list!

As for the need to rent a car, my advice is that if you are planning on staying within the Disney resort (the four main theme parks, water parks, Downtown Disney, mini golf, etc.) skip the rental car and let Disney do the driving.  I'd save the money for some wonderful souvenirs to bring back home.  If you intend to go off site for meals, or any other reason, then a car might be handy, as the cost of taxis can quickly add up.

When we stay on site, we always make use of Magical Express and find Disney transportation to be perfect for getting around.

    Have a great trip!
