We are staying at POP Century with friends for my birthday in August. We would like to visit the Polynesian Village Resort for drinks on the night we check in. How would we go about doing this?

    Welcome to planDisney, Beth!

Disney's Pop Century Resort is a "practically perfect" place to stay for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. I'm actually staying there myself this spring and I can't wait. Being a 90s kid, I love the theming of this hotel and the fact that it has access to Disney Skyliner. It also has one of the best resort quick-service dining options on property, Everything POP Shopping and Dining. I'm sure you're going to have a groovy time, Beth.

Your plan to visit Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for an evening drink sounds splendid. I would highly recommend Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. This fantastically-themed bar is adults-only after 8:00 PM and you'll probably have to wait for a seat (it's very popular). I don't want to spoil the surprise, but ordering drinks at this bar can be... entertaining. You can also grab a drink at Tambu Lounge if you'd rather not wait. Either way, you can't go wrong. Hopefully, you'll even be able to catch Happily Ever After from the beach area.

Beth, if you'd like to get from Disney's Pop Century Resort to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, the fastest way would be to take a Minnie Van. The Disney Minnie Van Service works with the Lyft app. Here's how you order one:

    1. Open the Lyft app within Walt Disney World Resort, and enter your destination (e.g. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort).
    2. Confirm your pickup location (e.g. Disney's Pop Century Resort) and tap “Select Minnie Van". If the Minnie Van service doesn’t immediately display, scroll through vehicle type options until it appears.
    3. Track your vehicle on a map provided by the app. You’ll also see the vehicle number to help you spot your car.

If you'd rather make use of the free Disney transportation, you can take a bus from your hotel to Magic Kingdom Park. You can then take the monorail or the boat to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. This will take longer, but it'll be a fun adventure!

I hope that's helpful, Beth. I trust you'll have a brilliant time. Thanks for stopping by planDisney. See ya real soon!
