Hi, we are staying at Pop Century, but will be attending Magic Kingdom first before checking in. We wanted to use preferred parking at MK, would we be charged parking there and at Pop Century.

Hi, Tinea!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'm so glad to hEAR that you will be taking advantage of all the benefits that come with staying right in the middle of the magic at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel during your upcoming vacation.  Disney's Pop Century Resort is a great choice for your home away from home!

Since it sounds like you will have your own car with you during your Walt Disney World Resort visit, let me provide you with some information about parking.  Standard overnight self-parking is available to registered Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guests for a fee that will be applied to their resort hotel folio at check-out.  Although you will need to pay to park your car at Disney's Pop Century Resort, standard theme park parking is included for registered Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guests.

When you arrive at one of the theme park parking lots, a Cast Member at the parking lot entrance will scan your MagicBand to verify that you are a resort hotel guest.  At that time, you may enjoy complimentary standard parking, or if you would like to upgrade to preferred parking, you may do so by paying the difference in cost between standard and preferred parking.

If you will be heading to Magic Kingdom Park before arriving at Disney's Pop Century Resort, I would recommend completing the online resort check-in process prior to your arrival date.  Once you have done that, the Cast Members at the theme park parking lot should have no trouble verifying that you are a resort hotel guest, even if you have not yet stopped by your resort.

While you are certainly welcome to drive your own car to any destination on Walt Disney World Resort property, you may want to consider leaving your car at your resort hotel if you will be visiting EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios.  The new Disney Skyliner gondola system makes traveling from Disney's Pop Century Resort to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios a breeze!

    See ya real soon!
