Aloha, Anthony. Thanks for bringing your question to our ohana here at planDisney. Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind, and nobody gets left hungry!
While there are times when visiting
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (and other
Disney Resorts Collection Hotels) is limited to only Guests staying there, you can typically have Guests visit you to meet you at the resort for a meal. Just note that they will not be able to take advantage of certain amenities, like the pools. While taking the
monorail or a
boat will be the easiest way for them to meet you at the resort, if they are attempting to park for a limited time, please ensure that they use the name on your reservation and the room number at the security booth.
Capt. Cook’s is one of my favorite
quick-service restaurants at the resort hotels. I love the Polynesian flair and especially enjoy the Tonga Toast for breakfast and the Pulled Pork Nachos. And while I haven’t tried it myself, everyone raves about the Moana Cupcake that is typically available there. It’s on my list of snacks to try, but sometimes there’s only so much stomach space and so many wonderful options at Disney restaurants.
Anthony, while staying at the Polynesian, be sure you check out
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. While there is usually a waitlist, grabbing some drinks and light bites in this immersive lounge is such a great experience. It’s so intricately themed, really has its own unique subculture, and it’s just so…fun! Plus, there’s
Pineapple Lanai with its delicious DOLE Whip options. Having easy access to DOLE Whip is clutch, let me tell you!
If Moana taught us anything, it’s that the journey is better when you don’t travel alone. Enjoy your meal with your sister’s family and your entire stay. If you have any other questions,
please feel free to reach back out to me.
Maui says you’re welcome,
Matt
