Hey there, hi there, ho there, Barry! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney.
As a Disney superfan and a physical therapist, I have a passion for
mobility and magic. And since you're planning on staying at the
Polynesian (one of my very favorite Disney Resort Hotels) and renting a scooter to get around Walt Disney World, it sounds like your planning is off to a practically perfect start! I'm thrilled to answer your question to help you tie up your loose planning ends and start your pixie-dusted countdown to your magical adventure.
I think you'll be happy to hear that you will easily be able to take your scooter on the
Monorail, the elevator to and from the Monorail and the
Disney buses, and you can stay right on your scooter. While most
Walt Disney World boats are large enough for you to drive your scooter right onto the boat, some of the smaller watercrafts between Magic Kingdom and the Resorts in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area, such as the Polynesian and Grand Floridian, are unable to accommodate a scooter.
Hakuna Matata, Barry! It means "no worries." Taking the Monorail from the Polynesian to Magic Kingdom is the easiest and fastest route anyway. And the best part? From the Polynesian, you can also quickly hop the Monorail to EPCOT! Just follow the path from the Polynesian to the Transportation and Ticket Center and follow the signs to the EPCOT Monorail. It's magic time!
I hope this helps, Barry, and I wish you a magical and memorable time at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have.
You've got a friend in me,
Mandy
