Hi, Maria! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
One of the things that I love the most about the Walt Disney World Resort is how they make the magic accessible to everyone. I often visit with my son who has autism, and when we vacation with our extended family, we have relatives who need to use electric conveyance vehicles (scooters). The Walt Disney World Resort offers many
services for guests with various types of disabilities in order to ensure that everyone's visit is practically perfect in every way.
During our extended family trip, we found that the Walt Disney World Resort's
transportation system was quite accessible for our family members with
mobility needs. All of the Walt Disney World Resort
buses can accommodate two wheelchairs or electric conveyance vehicles at a time. Buses start transporting
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guests to the
theme parks 45 minutes before the park's opening time and tend to run approximately every 20 minutes. When you are at your resort hotel, you can check your
My Disney Experience mobile app to see when the next bus is scheduled to arrive. Unfortunately, there is no bus service between resort hotels. In order to travel from
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for your breakfast reservation at
Boma - Flavors of Africa, you will need to first take a bus from your resort hotel to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, then from there, catch a bus headed to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. I would allow at least an hour and a half to make this trip.
Depending on what time the parks open on the day of your reservation, you may be cutting it a bit close to arrive at your reservation on time by bus. I would suggest you consider using the
Minnie Van Service as it is usually the quickest way to travel throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. The Minnie Van Service begins running at 6:30 a.m., so it is perfect for those early morning breakfast reservations. Normally, you can request and pay for a Minnie Van using your Lyft app, but since you will need an accessible vehicle, you will want to call (407) 828-3500 to request your vehicle. Requests for an accessible vehicle can be made 45 to 60 minutes in advance. A Cast Member will then arrive in an adorable red and white polka dot vehicle to take you directly to any location on Walt Disney World Resort property.
Have a magical day!
Samantha
