If staying at the Polynesian, could I take the monorail to the Contemporary/Bay Lake Tower to have dinner over there or check out the DVC member lounge?

    Hi Diane,

Welcome home, and welcome back to planDiney!

Thank you for trusting us with your vacation planning questions, Diane, it is great fun helping fellow Disney Vacation Club Members make the most of their membership!

Absolutely, you can take the monorail over to Disney’s Contemporary Resort to visit the restaurants, and merchandise locations, or to just enjoy the atmosphere. I see that you are travelling with little ones, on my most recent trip my sons were 4 and 1, and they absolutely loved Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary, whilst my 1-year-old may not remember it, I will remember his face meeting Mickey and pals over breakfast for the rest of my life—it was magic!

There are some fantastic benefits available to Disney Vacation Club Members eligible for Membership Extras, including access to the exclusive Top of the World Lounge – Villains Lair at Bay Lake Tower. To visit, eligible Members must be staying at a Disney Collection hotel using their membership, whether on points or cash.

The lounge is available on a first-come first-serve basis, and at the time of writing check-in begins at 6 pm, keep in mind that the lounge does often reach capacity around the time of Happily Ever After, as members head to the lounge for that exclusive view of the fireworks!

I hope this answers your question, Diane, and that you enjoy the rest of the vacation planning, after all, planning a Disney vacation is half the fun, right?

If you have any further questions please reach out to me, I’d love to help!

    Have a magical day,
    Matt
