We’re staying at the Polynesian in late March, and the Epcot monorail won’t open until 10am on the day we are going to Epcot. What’s the best way to get to Epcot when the Epcot monorail is out of service? Thanks!

Hi, Emma! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We're so glad you stopped by.

March is a beautiful time to be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort and since you'll be headed to Epcot, don't miss the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. You can see the park in full bloom while you snack your way around the World Showcase. That's a near perfect day in my book.

Now, for getting to Epcot... since you've done your homework about the monorail schedule, let me put your mind at ease that backup bus transportation will be available.

My recommendation for your Epcot day is to give yourself (and your traveling party) a few additional minutes in the morning and check in with a Cast Member at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. A Cast Member can confirm with you when and where to pick up the bus to Epcot if the monorail isn't running.

Another option if you find yourself short on time is the Minnie Van Service. Available to book (for a fee) through the Lyft app, the Minnie Van service provides door-to-door pick up and drop off. I took my very first Minnie Van in December and it was so convenient!

Emma, I hope this helps as you're planning for vacation and dreaming about March in the Most Magical Place on Earth. And... since you'll be staying at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, why not delight in my favorite Disney treat, the DOLE Whip! Head on over to Pineapple Lanai to pick one up.

Best wishes for an unforgettable trip,

    Lauren
