Staying @ Polynesian. I know we take monorail to MK but what about other parks? Is it a bus that picks you up at Polynesian and goes straight to another park or do you have to ride the monorail part way and then bus? Also, realistic travel times to each?

Hey there, Simone! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

Oh, you are in for a real treat staying at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It is honestly one of my very favorite places to stay. I love everything about it. The food, the rooms, the views, the pools - the list could go on and on. Transportation from this resort to all of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Water Parks and to Disney Springs is very easy to navigate.

To get to Magic Kingdom Park, you have two options. My recommendation is to hop on the monorail. You are just 2 stops away from all of the magic and it's a very short ride. I'd say no more than 10 minutes. On the way back, you'll board the monorail again but this time you'll be 3 stops away.  You can also take a boat from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to Magic Kingdom Park. On the way back to your resort from Magic Kingdom Park, keep in mind the boat does stop at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa first.

To get to Epcot, you also have two options. You can take one of the complimentary buses that will pick you up at your resort and take you straight to Epcot. This route is direct but you must factor in traffic. I'd say allow anywhere from 30 min. to 1 hour to reach the park. You can also use the monorail to get to Epcot. You'll board the monorail and ride it to the Transportation and Ticket Center. Once there, you'll exit the monorail you are currently on and switch lines to get to Epcot. I'd allow 45 minutes to 1 hour for this route.

To get to Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs and the Water Parks you can take the complimentary bus straight to each entrance.  I'd allow 30 minutes to 1 hour of travel time to each of these as well. Hope this helps!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
