We're staying at the Polynesian & I'm hoping to take water/bus transportation everywhere (or drive our vehicle). Can I avoid the monorail? I am claustrophobic & I'm not sure I could handle it

    Aloha, Stacey!

How fun that that you are headed to Walt Disney World and staying at my favorite resort Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  While I've been lucky to have stayed at nearly all of the Disney Resorts and been happy at each and every one, in the end my heart belongs to the Poly (my family's nickname for the resort). I just adore the lush tropical landscaping and Polynesian theming.  Knowing it was one of the original resorts when Walt Disney World opened in 1971 makes it even more special to me.

When you are at the resort, you will be able to take a complementary water taxi to go to the Magic Kingdom (sometimes transportation may be delayed with inclement weather, however).  To get to Epcot, most guests take the monorail, so that may be one theme park where you'd prefer to take your car.  To get anywhere else at Walt Disney World, you will be able to take a bus.

Wishing you a magical trip!  Please let us know if we can help with any further questions. -Kara
