We are staying at the Polynesian in August, there are 8 in our party, and am wondering. We always get the Dining plan, but was wondering if it is a better value to get the Tables in Wonderland instead. Thank You

Hi, Jim! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Ahh, the great debate! Disney Dining Plan VS Tables in Wonderland. You will find supporters of both sides, some more opinionated than others. In order to purchase Tables in Wonderland, you must either be a Passholder, Disney Vacation Club Member, or a Florida Resident. To me, the fact that this is such an exclusive option makes me think that it may be the best bang for your buck. With Tables in Wonderland, you receive a 20% discount on food and beverage (including alcohol) at over 100 participating restaurants. This 20% discount applies for parties of up to 10, so your group of 8 would all qualify for the 20% off as long as one of your opted for the Tables in Wonderland option. Don’t get me wrong, I love the versatility of the Disney Dining Plan, and I love that they have now removed the forced dessert from the Quick Service entitlement and added it as an additional Snack option instead. I have done some research and read multiple reports, however, that there are more savings with Tables in Wonderland unless of course, you receive a Special Offer that includes the Disney Dining Plan.

Since you are staying at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Village, might I suggest that your group visit ‘Ohana, my personal favorite dinner location?! Arrive hungry, though, trust me!

    Bon appetit!
