We are staying at the Polynesian - can we have access to the park 1 hour before park opening time ? Does early morning magic include breakfast ? Where ? Do you still have Fast Pass+ or has it been replaced by Genie+ - do you have to pay for this ?

    Hi Jackie,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for the question!

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is such a beautiful resort, so happy you will be staying there in April! Since you’re staying at one of the Disney Resorts Collection hotels you are able to access the magic 30 minutes early for the World’s Most Magical Celebration. During this early entry period, there will be a select number of attractions, merchandise, and food and beverage locations open throughout the Theme Parks. On select days during your holiday you may be able to take advantage of Extended Evening Hours at select Theme Parks throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll want to check out the Walt Disney World Resort calendar and select “Month View” to see all the dates where Extended Evening Hours are an option.

You’re correct Genie+ is the new option for selecting your ride times ahead of time. But first, let’s talk about Disney Genie service, which is a complimentary service in the My Disney Experience mobile app. With Disney Genie, you are able to enter the desired attractions and entertainment you want to visit over the course of your holiday. From there, the Genie will work his magic and come up with recommendations and a personalized itinerary for you, inclusive of food options and attractions that are tailored to what you want to do.

The other option, as you mentioned, is Genie+. This is a paid service where you can pay a price per ticket, per day to hold your place in line for a certain time. There are two ways to access Genie+. You can either purchase the service with your Theme Park tickets for your total holiday when you book online or you can pay for Genie+ individually for any specific day of your holiday. If you choose the second option, you can purchase the Genie+ service as early as 12 a.m. on that specific day. Later that morning, the Genie+ service will open up the opportunity for Lightning Lane selections, similar to Fastpass+. At 7 a.m. on the day you have Genie+, you will be able to select your first Lightning Lane attraction and once you use that Lightning Lane, you’ll immediately be able to book another! Though this is a change, I'm sure the Genie will help grant your wishes throughout the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks.

I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your upcoming holiday in April. If you have further planning questions, feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
