Aloha, Diana! I'm so glad the tropical breeze has filled your sails and brought you back into port here at planDisney. Thank you for trusting us with your question about room types and locations at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. I'd be glad to help out and provide you all the information you will need to make your room request once you've booked your stay.
The Polynesian is an absolutely fantastic resort with truly immaculate vibes, and I have thoroughly enjoyed staying there on past vacations. Standard Resort View rooms are available in two configurations: rooms with 1 King Bed and 1 Day Bed or rooms with 2 Queen Beds. The view from these rooms may include a view of gardens, the monorail, or parking areas, and this mix of rooms can be found in four different buildings on the resort grounds. The rooms you are looking for with a King Bed will be in either the Fiji or Rarotonga buildings of the resort.
I advise you to indicate your King Bed preference when you complete online check in. You may also
send an email or make a phone call to speak with a Cast Member, and they will be able to note your request on your reservation. Cast Members will do their best to accommodate your request, but there are no guarantees.
One way to ensure you receive a King Bed in your room is to
consider another room type. Aside from the Standard rooms I discussed earlier, there are a variety of room types that have King Beds. These include rooms with Club Level Access and rooms in the Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. While the word "garden" is not specifically listed in the view description like it is on Resort View rooms, these other room types do include views of the Marina, Magic Kingdom, Seven Seas Lagoon, the golf course, the pool, and parking areas. If you do end up selecting another room type, take a close look at the view offered to determine if it will meet your needs.
I hope this helps you kick back and relax in a King Bed on your vacation, Diana! Make sure to grab a Dole Whip from
Pineapple Lanai and enjoy the stellar view of
Happily Ever After from the resort grounds. Come back and see us soon for more tips and planning help!
Stay magical,
Scott
