Hey there, Julie! Thanks so much for running on over to planDisney with your question - I'm so glad you found us! As you're making your final preparations before arriving at
Walt Disney World Resort this week, it's my pleasure to share some information about parking and logistics to hopefully make your weekend go smoothly.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is my favorite place to stay when we visit - the location, the views, and the tropical ambiance can't be beat!
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is always so much fun, and I'm sure you are getting excited to experience those magical miles. As with any
runDisney event, you can expect to see lots of runners and their supporters throughout the week, so it's wise to have plans in place for race day and beyond.
Julie, as a registered Guest at the Polynesian, you may park there for free during your stay and can come and go as you like. You can expect to show ID and confirm your reservation when you return to the resort. If you choose to drive a personal vehicle to one of the races, plan to leave early and arrive at the EPCOT parking areas designated for runners by 4:00AM. Generally, I prefer to take the buses that pick up runners at each resort - it takes some stress out of the morning!
If you are referring to leaving the Poly on your check-out day,
Hakuna Matata! Guests may continue to use the parking area at their resort until midnight on the day of departure. Perhaps you can snag a post-race reservation for breakfast at
Kona Cafe (the Macadamia Nut Pancakes are my favorite Disney breakfast), or enjoy some post-race relaxation poolside with some DOLE Whip before heading home!
I hope this information is helpful for your race weekend plans, Julie! If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out again - we're always here to help.
See Ya Real Soon!
Susan
