Hi! We’re staying at the Poly April 25-May 1 and we have a Park Hopper. Picked this week because heard it was slow. Think there’s a need to get a full Lightning Lane day at Magic Kingdom?

Hey there, Jesse! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. Your trip to Walt Disney World Resort is just around the riverbend, and I'll be happy to share some tips for maximizing your time in the parks. Let's get right to it!

You'll be staying at my very favorite on-property hotel - Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It's one of the Disney World OG resorts (and also our family's Disney Vacation Club Home Resort!), and the location is practically perfect! We love ending our Disney day on the beach at the Poly, enjoying a DOLE Whip while we take in the Magic Kingdom Park fireworks.

While a "slow week" at Walt Disney World is a relative term, there is plenty happening all around The Most Magical Place on Earth during your visit! The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will be hosting a large cheerleading event, and the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is always a big draw for both locals and out-of-town Guests.

Given your proximity to the Magic Kingdom, it's definitely possible to experience all of your must-do attractions without purchasing Lightning Lane passes. Early Theme Park Entry is a great benefit for Guests of Disney Resort Hotels that allows you to enter the parks 30 minutes before the posted opening time. Since you have Park Hopper tickets, you can easily start at the Magic Kingdom (or another park) some mornings and check out a few attractions before hopping to a different park.

The posted park hours for your dates also show a late-night opportunity for some additional magic! Your crew can visit the Magic Kingdom during Extended Evening Hours from 10:00pm to midnight on Wednesday, April 29. This is a great benefit for Guests staying at Deluxe resorts, Deluxe Villa resorts, and some other select hotels. I definitely recommend riding TRON Lightcycle / Run at night to experience the full effect!

Jesse, if you do choose to purchase Lightning Lanes, be sure to set an alarm so you're ready to go at 7:00 AM, 7 days prior to your check-in date. We usually try and snag a pass or two for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT which is a family favorite!

I hope this information is helpful as you're getting all of your (Donald) ducks in a row for your visit - it will be here before you know it! Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please come see us again if we can help with any other questions to make your vacation magical!

    See Ya Real Soon!
