Hi Leah,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. April will be here before you know it, and I know you are getting so super excited about your Walt Disney World vacation!
Leah, I am a huge fan of the midday rest during a Disney trip. That feeling of sliding tired feet into the pool is just pure bliss after pounding the magical pavement. Kudos to you for making time for downtime during your vacation.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter’s Doubloon Lagoon pool is so stunning, too. You will absolutely love it!
In my experience, Guests are welcome to bring outside food to the pool. The pool rules to keep in mind are: there are no glass containers allowed in the pool area, and food and drink are not allowed in the pool or on the pool deck. You will see the rules posted at the entrance to every pool on property. A few years back, I was
obsessed with the Walt Disney World chicken tenders (I don’t even really like chicken tenders outside of Disney, but I swear they are coated in pixie dust or something at Walt Disney World). I have the most wonderful memory of sitting in a lounge chair by the pool with an icy cold beverage and my chicken tenders and just feeling like all was right with the world.
Did you know that guests staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort are able to use
pools at both French Quarter and Riverside? I hope you'll find the time to enjoy the Ol' Man Island pool, which has a fun old fashioned swimming hole theme and is only a short walk away from French Quarter. It's just another fabulous perk of that particular resort.
Enjoy your pool time, and have a magical vacation!
