Staying at POFQ in Sept. Have 2 kids: 3 yr old boy, 1 yr old girl. What request if any should I make about the building location? Is the resort that spread out if we'd stay in one of the outer bldgs, like 1, 3 or 7? Are there diff. room themes? Thanks Kim!

    Hi Rebecca!

    Port Orleans French Quarter
(POFQ) is a charming resort. Even the outer buildings are a  relatively short walk from the Sassagoula Food Court and bus stop. In fact, you'll find the furthest buildings to be much quieter.

Our son first stayed at this resort when he was nearly 3. I wouldn't worry about booking a room with a water view, since the corridors are exterior, the view isn't a top priority.

Instead, request a corner room with two windows to make the room feel less confining. If you would like to be close to everything, request Building 2 which is steps from the pool, Sassagoula Riverboat, and playground. And not far from the gift store, food court and bus stop.

I like building 6 for its quiet location, river and courtyard views and no chance of looking out at a parking lot.

All rooms at POFQ were renovated this year to include two queen size beds, new furnishings, bedding, etc. You'll find the theme to reflect the pageantry of the French Quarter!
