Staying at POFQ. Want to purchase milk, cream cheese and bananas for bkft. Is there a store on resort property to buy above items. Will have our car. Would we be better going to a grocery off site? If so, which one? How much milk will fit in refrigerator?

    Tara:

My husband and I just got back from a trip to Disney and stayed at Port Orleans: French Quarter--it was our first time at the resort, and living in South Mississippi with only a 2-hour drive from New Orleans, I thought the resort exceeded my expectations!  The theming was quaint and the Sassagoula River floats right by the resort for scenic strolls.

I don't remember a refrigerated case at the small gift shop, but my husband thinks that there was one in the far back corner.  Either way, if I were in your shoes and had a car, I'd get your groceries right before you arrive on the Disney campus, for cost-savings if anything.  We usually stop at the Wal-Mart off of SRS 535.  The address is:

    Wal-Mart Supercenter
    3250 Vineland Road
    Kissimmee, FL

The refrigerators are the size of what you'd find in a dorm.  Plenty of room for milk, cream cheese, bottled water and the like.  I'd purchase a 1/2 gallon carton of milk for the door of the fridge.  You would have to take the shelf out of the refrigerator for anything larger.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
