Hello Donna! Welcome to the Disney Parks Mom´s Panel.
What a great time to visit Walt Disney World and enjoy "not-so-scary" Halloween decorations and events.
I highly recommend Mickey´s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, where guests enjoy unique parades, fireworks and activities, while crowd levels are of the lowest my family has experienced.
We stayed at Disney´s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort for six nights, just after resort was refurbished. Our room was located in front of the evening movies and our kids really enjoyed the Doubloon Lagoon Pool with its sea serpent water slide. Guest can also access and enjoy all activities at the Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, including the Ol´ Man Island pools complex.
Between both resorts Disney´s Port Orleans complex offer its guests a wide
selection of activities and services, including Pirate Adventure Cruises - that allow parents two full hours for us, while kids learn to have fun as pirates.
Both resorts also feature complimentary water taxi to Downtown Disney area and to Disney´s Old Key West Resort and Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
Disney´s Port Orleans has served as my family´s main resort and we really have enjoyed it.
My family enjoys more Disney´s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, since the Alligator Bayou section features a beautiful bunk size pull-down bed that my kids loved and took turns to sleep at it. This section also features more landscape and woods-like feel.
Happy to help you plan a fun and magical Disney vacation.
Miguel
