Hi. Staying at POFQ and have Hoop Dee Doo reservations at 7:15 on June 2. What is the easiest way to get there from hotel? What time should we leave.

    Tiffany:

As I mentioned to Debra from Pennsylvania a few weeks ago, getting from Port Orleans to Fort Wilderness is really a toss up between using your car or taking the Disney bus and then boat.  The boat is more scenic, but the car/internal fort bus would probably take less time....

    If you take your car,
Port Orleans is a 5- to 8-minute car ride to Fort Wilderness.  Once you park your car at the Outpost parking, you'll take an internal Fort Wilderness bus (buses run frequently) for the 5-minute ride to the Settlement bus stop. Pioneer Hall and its Hoop dee Doo will be in the buildings to your left.

If you take a Disney bus: I'd suggest you take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then ride the boat to Fort Wilderness.  The boat will drop you off about 100 yards from Pioneer Hall—just follow the signs. Keep in mind that the boat ride can be chilly at night—even in summer, so bring a jacket.

Keep in mind that, although you have reserved seats for Hoop dee Doo, they ask that you arrive 30 to 45 minutes ahead of time to take your picture....I'd say give yourself a good 30 minutes if by car and up to an hour by bus, plus picture time!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
