staying at pofq, use hadicap room, what is the bathroom like? last year used bathtub, but this year daughter is bigger and need something besides me lifting her in and out of tub. do the roll-in showers have benches or can i get a bath wheelchair? thanks

    Hello Julie,

We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter with my wheelchair-bound Mom and found the resort to be very supportive of our needs. From what I remember, our handicapped accessible room had a door with a double peep-hole, a roll-under sink, and a roll-in shower. I seem to recall a bar in the shower for added assistance as well, but I also think some of my memories may be clouded with a bit a Pixie Dust! I spoke with a Cast Member who says that a tub is available at some resorts, so if that's your preference, you just need to let them know.

If you haven't done so already, make sure you put in a room request with Disney Reservations. They will try to accommodate it as best as possible.

    Enjoy your trip!

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
