We'll be staying at POFQ for our DD's 3rd birthday in early Sept. We will have an almost 3yo and 1yo and a double stroller with us. Can I make a ground floor request before check-in? Are there any other requests I should make regarding location?

    Hi Katie!

Happy early birthday to your little princess!  Port Orleans French Quarter is great for families with very young children, as it is the smallest of the moderate resorts.  Even at it's most crowded, this resort always has a tranquil feel to it.  Also, the proximity of Downtown Disney is great - the boat ride can be so relaxing and strollers are welcome!  As a native New Orleanian, I can tell you that Disney's version of the French Quarter is very flattering - I wish that we were as clean and friendly!!!

While there are elevators, I agree that a ground floor room will be best suited for your family.  The rooms in Buildings 2 and 5 are the closest to the pool, food court and buses.  Different  views are available:  Standard, which overlooks courtyards or parking lots and Water View, which offers pool or river views.  If you decide to upgrade and choose a water view room, be sure to let the reservationist know if you prefer a river or pool view - the river views are breathtaking!  Disney will do its best to accommodate your requests, but I would let them know which request is most important.

A fabulous website, Portorleans.org, is a great site dedicated entirely to the Port Orleans Resorts.  I could spend hours checking out the photos are reading all of the great tips.  Have a magical trip!

    Much pixie dust,
