We are staying at POFQ for 6 days starting Feb 8. We have reservations for Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast at 8:40 am, what time would you suggest leaving our hotel in order to be on time without feeling rushed? Thanks

    Hi Julie!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Moms Panel!  Since you didn't write how you plan on traveling, I'll give you a couple different answers.

If you are traveling by car, either your own or a taxi, then I would plan on 15 minutes from the parking lot at Port Orleans to the parking lot at the Polynesian.  'Ohana is on the 2nd floor of the Great Ceremonial House which is where you will enter the Polynesian at, so say 5 minutes from the parking lot to the restaurant.  If you are driving, just stay to the right as you approach the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot gate and tell the Cast Member that you are headed to the Polynesian.

If you are taking Disney transportation, then I recommend reserving an hour for the trip.  That will give you enough time to wait for a bus to the Magic Kingdom, ride the bus, and then switch to the monorail to get to the Polynesian.

By the way, my recommendation is to go in a car.  If you don't have your own or if you want to go from the restaurant directly to the Magic Kingdom, then I suggest taking a taxi from Port Orleans French Quarter.  I have found taxis to be quick and relatively inexpensive to go anywhere on Disney property.  If you have your own car and you want to go to the Magic Kingdom, then I suggest leaving it behind so that you can simply take the monorail from the Polynesian to the Magic Kingdom.  Later in the day, you can get back to Port Orleans via a bus from the Magic Kingdom.

This is a very enjoyable breakfast!  My children and I did it twice in 2009 and we all loved it.  Have a magical vacation!
