Hi, we're staying at the P.O. Riverside in Feb for our first visit to Disney. I'm looking for more information on transportation, busing, schedules, how long would it take us to go for dinner at The Grand Floridian for ex. All info would be helpful. Thx

Hello Laura!  You are going to love Port Orleans Riverside!  It's such a relaxing and peaceful resort.  There really are no schedules for buses as they run on a continuous cycle throughout the day.  Bus transportation begins approximately one hour before the parks open and will cycle through the bus depots every 15-20 minutes throughout the day.

You will need to use the bus transportation to get to all the parks. You do, however, have the option of taking a relaxing boat ride to Downtown Disney and I highly recommend it.

In general, the bus ride itself should not be more than 20 minutes to wherever you are going.  You do need to budget extra time (15-20 minutes) in to wait for the bus, if necessary.  A good rule of thumb would be to budget 45-60 minutes from the bus depot to allow for waiting for the bus, the actual bus ride and transferring to another mode of transportation, such as a monorail or boat if necessary (as the case when commuting to the Grand Floridian).

I'm not sure if you actually need directions to the Grand Floridan so just in case...take the bus headed to Magic Kingdom.  From there you can transfer to the resort monorail or take a boat over to Grand Floridian.  (I would probably take a peek at the boat launch as I'm walking towards the monorail, if it looks like a boat is ready to board passengers, I would use that option and if not, just hop on the monorail).

I hope this helps and I hope your vacation is truly magical!  Diane
