Ahoy, Lynn Anne! I hope you are cruising with Captain Mickey after staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter!
Packing for
Disney Surf and Turf vacations can prove to be a little challenging, especially when the trip involves pre- and post-cruise visits to any of the
4 Theme Parks, 2 Water Parks and a World of Fun. Unfortunately, Disney Resort hotels will
not allow you to store any luggage for the duration of your sailing. This is the case even when staying on-property prior to your high seas adventure.
If you purchase air travel through the Disney Cruise Line Air Program, or even when making your own air arrangements, you can add ground and baggage
Transfers. Do buy them for transportation between Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter and Port Canaveral. However, in your situation, I don't recommend them for debarkation day. This is because once you arrive at the airport, there are no storage facilities for luggage due to security reasons. Furthermore, the airline may not allow you to check luggage prior to departure with enough time to head back and enjoy Disney Springs.
I suggest renting a car to drive from Port Canaveral to Disney Springs. Simply store the luggage inside the trunk of your rental car while enjoying the shopping, dining venues and entertainment options at Disney Springs. Then head to Orlando International Airport when it's time to catch your flight. Please allow a minimum of 4 hours for travel time, customs clearances and security checks at the airport. In other words, leave Disney Springs no later than 3:00 p.m.
Wishing you a most magical Disney vacation by land and sea!
